AASC Open Roles

MECHANICAL Engineer | Alameda, CA

About Us

AASC, a San Francisco Bay Area based company develops reliable, low-cost electric propulsion for CubeSats. We have been selected to support NASA’s lunar exploration and science goals and are growing the team!

About The Role

Successful candidate/s will join a small team at the ground level, with an opportunity to grow into key drivers in the innovative and rapid-growing space of small satellites. The two-year NASA Small Business Innovation Research contract will take our thruster from single digit volume hand-made units to low volume, reliable production. We are looking for production engineers to lead the build-out and operation of a small facility for thruster tests, validation and production. Tasks include creation of custom vacuum chamber test systems, a small-scale cleanroom assembly line, running long life tests under simulated orbital conditions, and assisting in the task of archiving build documentation for future, turn-key thruster construction.

Given the small size of our team, this position offers a breadth of opportunity for growth and exposure to all aspects from product design to production: the exact span of responsibilities will depend upon the candidate’s experience and skill sets. AASC offers competitive salary and benefits
