AASC is pleased to announce that in August 2020, we were selected by ASTRA LLC to deliver a flight-ready version of our Metal Plasma Thruster (MPT) for ASTRA’s upcoming EWS Rapid Revisit Optical Cloud Imager (RROCI) Mission, scheduled for launch in early 2022.

The Journal of Propulsion and Power has published measurements online of thrust from the MPT in January 2021. The measurements were made at NASA Glenn Research Center using their sensitive pendulum thrust stand. The NASA measurements corroborate AASC's theoretical estimates and provide a framework for prediction of thrust under varying conditions and for different propellants.

The Journal of Propulsion and Power has published our first paper describing the MPT, giving details of the operating principles, capabilities and benefits of our pulsed thruster technology.
